Welcome to our Rodizio – The Churrascaria at Turning Stone!
We strive to provide you with a culinary experience unlike any other in Central New York. Rodizio is a place to celebrate everyday life in the tradition of the Gauchos. We want you to relax and enjoy this truly unique experience with us.
Churrasco (choo-rah-sko) has been a culinary tradition in Rio Grande do Sul (Southern Brazil) since the early 1800’s. In the old days, the gauchos (South American Cowboys) pierced large pieces of meat and slowly roasted them over open fire pits while talking about their adventures on the Pampas. The roasted meats were then brought around to each family and carved tableside with their knives in a show of skill.
Churrascaria (choo-rah-scah-ria) is the name used to describe a restaurant that serves different cuts of roasted meats and Rodizio is a method of cooking and serving the different cuts of meat. Today we continue this tradition by offering a two-course all-you-can-eat meal.
The first course awaits you at our gourmet salad bar. There you will encounter a scrumptious selection of Brazilian staples including hearts of palm, artichokes, black beans, asparagus, a variety of dressings and sushi.
Our second course is our famous Rodizio. Our variety of delicious meats including roasted pork ribs, Linguica-Portuguese style sausages, rotisserie chicken, beef sirloin and many more will be carved tableside to you hot off the grills on sword-like skewers. Turn the “stone” on your table over to green and our gauchos will journey over to your table and begin to carve your favorite selections onto your plate from skewers for as long as you want. When you have enough, turn your “stone” over to red. Our carvers will stop, but there is no limit.
In addition to all the above, we will also serve side dishes family style. Sides include creamy mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and our house-baked Brazilian cheese bread.
