Turning Stone Announces Dustin Tuthill as Chef de Cuisine for 7 Kitchens Buffet

Born and raised in Central New York, Dustin Tuthill began his culinary career at Oneida Nation Enterprise 18 years ago making fudge at Turning Stone’s Opals Confectionery. After graduating from culinary school, he started as an entry-level cook at Wildflowers and worked his way up to the Chef de Cuisine, a position he has held at different restaurants at Turning Stone. Tuthill is bringing his nearly two decades of culinary craftsmanship to 7 Kitchens, where he will help to redefine the traditional buffet experience. 7 Kitchens will open in April.

Oneida Indian Nation Homelands (February 2, 2022) – Turning Stone announced today that  Central New Yorker Dustin Tuthill has been appointed as Chef de Cuisine of 7 Kitchens, the resort’s reimagined buffet restaurant opening in April. Formerly the Chef de Cuisine of Upstate Tavern, Tuthill has earned recognition for his culinary skills, crafting a selection of savory menu items that have quickly become guest favorites. Tuthill will bring that same culinary craftsmanship to developing the 7 Kitchens concept that will redefine the traditional buffet experience.

An 18-year employee, Tuthill began his culinary career at Oneida Nation Enterprises making fudge at Turning Stone’s Opals Confectionery, which inspired him to pursue the savory side of the kitchen while attending culinary school. Upon graduation, he started as an entry-level cook at Wildflowers and worked his way up to Chef de Cuisine. Tuthill helped open several restaurants across Oneida Nation Enterprises, including Upstate Tavern where he was previously Chef de Cuisine prior to being named to the lead chef for 7 Kitchens.

7 Kitchens will be a market-style restaurant featuring a variety of quality artisan food that includes Italian, Seafood, Asian, The Carvery, The Grill, a Taco Bar and The Bakery. 7 Kitchen’s contemporary design will offer seating for more than 375 guests, making it Turning Stone’s largest restaurant.

In preparation of 7 Kitchen’s grand opening, Tuthill, and chefs from across Oneida Nation Enterprises, will be interviewing candidates at the “Spring Into a New Career Hiring Event” on February 10.  Culinary positions offer entry-level employees a starting pay of $17-$20 an hour, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
