Man receives facial treatment at Skana spa in Verona, NY

Skaná at Turning Stone Introduces"Skaná for Gentlemen"

Skaná spa has refreshed its men’s spa menu, now offering customized massages, facials, pedicures and more

With 47 percent of all spa-goers in the U.S. being men, according to the International Spa Association (ISPA), Skaná spa at Turning Stone has created a new spa menu designed exclusively for them. The “Skaná for Gentlemen” menu features muscle-repairing massages, skin-brightening facials, custom-tailored pedicures and a gentlemen’s haircut.

According to the recent report from ISPA, both men and women find spa treatments as an ideal outlet for stress, with men enjoying the same soothing treatments as their female counterparts, including facials, massages, manicures and pedicures. There are key differences between men’s and women’s skin, however, which prompted Ska:ná:’s highly-trained staff to receive additional training for the different techniques for men’s treatments. For example, with a men’s facial, estheticians must consider facial hair growth when massaging skin and applying products. The “Skaná for Gentlemen” menu provides several customizable treatments specifically targeted at the ailments that men often are faced with, including tight, sore muscles, dry skin and achieving a smooth, clean shave.

The men’s skincare treatments at Skaná use Organic Male OM4 products, a four-step regimen designed to address the specific needs of men’s skin. The OM4 line includes shaving cream, resurfacing serum, cleanser and moisturizer that account for the gender-specific grooming realities of men and leave skin feeling fresh and healthy. OM4 products can be purchased directly at the Skaná shop.

Located in the award-winning Lodge at Turning Stone, Skaná pays homage to American Indian cultural themes through its décor, ambiance and treatments. Spa guests can also enjoy a healthy meal at the Skaná café, located in the main area of the spa. Healthy, younger-looking skin starts on the inside, and a meal at the Skaná café  allows the healing effects of the treatments to continue, with a fully customizable menu of nutritious options. Guests can choose an entrée, three sides, a dessert and a beverage for only $15. Each item is made to order by the staff at Wildflowers, Turning Stone’s AAA Four-Diamond Award restaurant. Options include heart-healthy smoked salmon, quinoa salad, orange-garlic kale chips, fresh berries, and more. The menu also highlights options for those who require gluten-free options and offers something for every dietary restriction, from meat-free to dairy-free. Calorie and macronutrient counts are also provided, making building a truly healthy meal simple.
