A Sneak Peek at NY Rec & Social Club's New Menu

NY Rec & Social Club will celebrate its highly-anticipated grand opening on December 6, 2023. While sports entertainment and social games will take center stage at NY Rec & Social Club, the food offering will also be a huge part of defining the experience.

Turning Stone recently announced Dustin Tuthill as NY Rec & Social Club’s first-ever Chef de Cuisine. Tuthill is uniquely qualified to curate the dining experience at NY Rec & Social Club, which will mirror the elevated social sports scene inside – he led the development of the menu and experience at Turning Stone’s popular Upstate Tavern. Tuthill has been a member of the Grand Opening teams for several popular restaurants at Turning Stone, including Upstate Tavern, 7 Kitchens and now NY Rec & Social Club.

Here’s a sneak peek at NY Rec & Social Club’s menu:

Hoggin’ Blankets

One of the signature dishes at NY Rec & Social Club will be the homemade pigs-in-blankets—the ultimate finger food. Chef Dustin and Turning Stone’s award-winning culinary team partnered with Hofmann to create custom beer brats that are used exclusively at NY Rec & Social Club, a process that took several months to perfect.

NY Rec & Social Club Chef de Cuisine Dustin Tuthill said, “We wanted these to be impressive. This is not something you can buy in the store. We take these large beer brats and wrap them in the best puff pastry you’ve ever had.”

The puff pastry is buttery, light and flaky, dressed with an egg wash and sesame seeds. The result: a plate of four “piggies” guests won’t find anywhere else.

“Smoky” Bacon Burger

Why order a regular bacon cheeseburger when you can get a smoked one? This special dish at NY Rec & Social Club is served with a glass dome over the burger that is filled with smoke that intensifies the flavor. Servers present the burger and remove the glass dome, releasing both aroma and smoke. Each burger is hand-formed and chefs inject an extra shot of butter to make sure it is as juicy as possible.

Tower of Onion Rings

NY Rec & Social Club reaches new heights with its onion rings, which are fried until golden brown and served in a foot-tall tower that resembles a small volcano on the plate. The rings are drizzled with blue cheese sauce and crumbles of blue cheese. There is also a little squeeze bottle of house-made hot sauce for guests to apply to their liking.

King of Wings

Wings are a staple of bar menus everywhere. At NY Rec & Social Club, those wings are the biggest and most tender wings guests will find anywhere in the region. Chefs fry the wings to perfection, then douse them the sauce of choice – more than 10 flavors to choose from, including house-made Buffalo hot sauce, house-made bourbon-smoked maple whiskey sauce, a house-made Korean barbecue sauce, Garlic Parmesan and more.

“We’re taking what guests expect in a chicken wing and elevating to something they aren’t expecting,” said NY Rec & Social Club Chef de Cuisine Dustin Tuthill. “We’re making a different play on the flavors, combined with the biggest wings we can find to make it the best wing experience guests have ever had.”

A “Pileup” of Tortilla Chips

NY Rec & Social Club’s take on nachos is, as the name suggests, tremendous. The foundation of the dish is a veritable pile of white and blue corn tortilla chips; inside and on top, chefs layer ample portions of house-made white queso, house-made pico de gallo, black beans, grilled chicken, freshly shredded Oaxaca cheese, jalapenos, guacamole, and sour cream. Perfectly sized for guests to share with friends.

“These are pretty epic nachos,” said NY Rec & Social Club Chef de Cuisine Dustin Tuthill. “We use different colored tortillas to make them really pop and stand out – and then have several layers of chips and toppings so there isn’t a dry chip in the pile.”

About Turning Stone’s NY Rec & Social Club

Opening on December 6, NY Rec & Social Club will be the first venue to open as part of Turning Stone’s $370 million evolution and represents the most significant addition to the Exit 33 entertainment complex since Turning Stone opened it 10 years ago.

The new home of Turning Stone’s sports book, NY Rec & Social Club will offer guests a more playful nightlife and dining experience that combines an elevated restaurant lounge with a traditional sports book. With more than 60 HD screens, live DJs, blackjack tables and social games including foosball, shuffleboard and billiards, NY Rec & Social Club is designed to be a fun place to socialize with friends. There will be comfortable plush seating for nearly 200 guests on the first-level with additional seating on the expansive outdoor patio. The upper level can be reserved for private events.
