A masterful storyteller, his heartfelt songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders and countless others. Among his list of hits are “Galway Girl” and “Copperhead Road,” which was named Tennessee’s official state song. In addition to his musical career, he also is a novelist, actor and radio host.
